The RMSc Mounting Standard for Handguns

Established by Shield Sights, the RMSc (also known as RMS/SMS) has become the preferred choice for mounting optics on slimline and compact handguns, especially those used for concealed carry.

What is the RMSc?

The RMSc Mounting Standard uses a specific pattern with two screw holes and four corner sockets to attach recoil lugs or pins. This setup is similar to the Noblex/Docter pattern but has wider and closer screw holes, making it unique.

Versatile Compatibility

This mounting pattern supports two types of optics:

• Micro Dot Sights: Measuring about 40mm in length.
• Larger Optics like Leupold DeltaPoint Pro: Measuring up to 46mm in length. These are designed for larger handguns, including double stack and full-size models.

RMSc Conversion Plates

Practical Considerations

One important thing to note is that while RMSc optics can fit on Leupold footprints and mounting plates, they may not make full contact with the slide if they are shorter or slimmer. In these cases, it's best to use optics of a similar size to ensure a proper fit.
